First, and regarding composition, I would like to see it facing me and not the back of it!
Second, the colors seam a bit strange! This would have worked very well in orange, black, white and maybe blue, but that brownish think and that purple/violet/blue... too strange for me... did you tweaked the colors?
The desat work is well done, some little flaws on the borders but that's understandable.
Some one just gave you a 0 score vote! that's just wrong!!!

I'm posting my shots for the comments not for the votes, so i don't really care if someone gives me 0
I did no color-tweaking at all, these are the original colors of this butterfly. The desat was indeed hard to do, because somehow the edges of the wings are translucent and the background was kind of glowing through.
This is a shot is from last summer, i hope to find time to go out and take some shots after i graduated in May ...
